FAQs

Q: How can I be sure if the eyecup (Airshield) fits on my face and around my eyes?

A: It is very important to find the best seal around your eyes with the least gap as possible because the better the seal the better it'll protect your eyes. You may submit a picture of your face to us to give you the top 3 suggestions. If you've never tried our eyewear before it is highly recommended to try at least 3 options to find the best fit.

Q: How to best maintain / clean the glasses?

A: Do not wash glasses under the water because water can delaminate the foam off the 7eye eyecup, decrease the bond off the antifog coating on the lens, and rust the magnets on Ziena glasses. Do not leave glasses in a hot car because the lens coating on the glasses and foamed eyecup can be affected by excessive heat.

Q: How often do I have to replace my old eyecup with a brand new one?

A: Each eyecup usually lasts anywhere from 3 months to 5 years depending on care & cleaning methods. Never soak the eyecups in water. Always use a pre-moistened wet cloth and make sure the eyecup and magnets/foam are fully dry before placing back on the frame. Make-up, lotions, and sweat will also affect the longevity of the eyecups.

Q: Which models accommodate prescription lenses?

A: All frames can accommodate prescription lenses. Prescription ranges go from (+)4.00 to (-)4.00. Please call our office if it's outside the range as hi-index lens option may be available.

Q: What is the difference between 7eye and Ziena glasses?

A: 7eye glasses have foam behind the frame and looks more like sunglasses so it looks more like an outdoor glasses to wear. Most 7eye frames are Z87.1 safety rated glasses so are more sturdier. Ziena glasses have silicone behind the frame and look more like optical frame that you can wear for both indoor and outdoor. If you play sports, 7eye is recommended. If you have dry eyes, whatever frame seals around the eyes the best is the best choice.

Q: Why is the foam eyecup leaving a black mark around my eyes?

A: Using sunscreen around the eyewear may affect 7eye's foamed eyecup (silicone eyecup is ok) as it may leave black marks around the eyes if it is a new eyecup. This can last the first 2-3 times of wear. If you wish to use sunscreen, please apply it 30 minutes beforehand and let it absorb to your skin before using the glasses.

Q: What is this Prop 65 warning? Is our product BPA-Free?

A:  The answer is no. Any Polycarbonate-made material would have BPA in it. It acts as a solidifying agent so that the plastic doesn't stay too soft. This is present in any polycarbonate lenses in our products.

BPA is mostly used in most plastics and food can lining. It affects female reproductive system thus it is mentioned in the ubiquitous Prop 65. As long as you don't digest a few hundred lens at one time, the level of BPA in our product needed to affect your reproductive system, it should be ok. But by the time you eat that many lenses, don't worry about the reproductive system. Let's focus more of your pipe system everywhere else in the body.

Prop 65 warning is not enforced in all states. However, 7eye resides in a state Prop 65 is enforced, it is required to mention it everywhere the products are sold. For more information, please refer to this government link

Q: Why is it that I cannot process my international order when I enter an address from the UK, Mexico, etc?

A: With countries like the UK and Mexico, we have a distributor that will be able to fulfill your order. Please go to our company page to find your country’s distributor and contact them directly.

Q: How long does it take to process an order once it’s been placed online or by phone?

A: All orders can take up to three days to be process from time of order. Order cutoff time is Monday to Friday 1:00 PM PST, orders placed after the cutoff will process the following business day. Orders with upgraded shipping (express, overnight, etc.) will take up to 2 days to complete though most of the time it can be done within 1 day. Prescription orders may take up to 2 weeks to process and if anti-fog is being applied it may take 3 weeks to process.

Q: Will the eyecup help with my dry eyes?

A: Yes, the eyecup creates a “moisture chamber” around the eye, ideal for motorcyclist, dry eye patients, skiers, high altitude climbers and more.

Q: Do you offer any type of discount for Military, Law Enforcement Officers, and Fire fighters?

A: Yes, we honor all of our servicemen and woman 365 days a year.  We give a 25% discount on any of our frames with valid documentation. Documentation can be emailed to us for one time registration. The offer excludes discontinued frames and prescription lenses.

Q: I got a pair of glasses in the mail and it doesn't fit, how do I go about returning for a store credit and trying another pair?

A: Before you send the glasses back, please have someone take picture of you wearing the product. Take pictures of top of the frame, front view, and below the frame where we can see the foam sealing around your face and see where the gap is.

Q: Can you make the silicone translucent for better peripheral vision?

A: At this time we do not have the technology to make the silicone translucent. Sorry about this.

Q: Can you use these for driving/riding?

A: Ziena glasses are not meant for driving as it is meant to alleviate pain from dry eyes, protect eyes from COVID and eye allergies, and to help treat light sensitivity / photosensitivity. Please be careful of your surroundings as peripheral vision is hampered.

Q: Does the UV protection increase as the photochromic transitioning lens gets darker?

A: Regardless of lens color or darkness, all our lenses including clear lenses have 100% UVA+UVB protection. We shouldn't be complacent thinking 100% UV is all you need. Bright light that has UV filtered can still damage eyes. For outdoors, we recommend a dark tinted lens, especially with polarization to it to reduce glare.

Q: Does 100% UV, 100% UVA + UVB, UV400 protection all mean the same thing?

A: Yup. Nowadays eyewear companies prefer to say 100% UVA + UVB to sound like there are extra things in there. Thanks marketing fluff team!

Q: I cannot choose my country to ship to in the order process. Why is that?

A: We have removed a few countries as an option, because we have local shops that sell the glasses in your country. Ordering through your country locations will save you excessive international shipping fees and worse, the custom duties, which is often 30-50% of your order amount.
