Any lenses made from polycarbonate contain BPA. BPA is used in polycarbonate to make the material hard and impact-resistant, which is why it's commonly found in lenses and other plastic items.
BPA is a chemical listed under California’s Proposition 65 because it has been shown to potentially affect the reproductive system. However, the amount of BPA present in our lenses is extremely small and poses no significant health risk under normal use. You would need to ingest an unrealistic number of lenses for it to have a biological impact.
Still, because our company is based in California—where Prop 65 is enforced—we are legally required to include this warning on our packaging and in any place where our products are sold.
